LiteFeeds Service Upgrades … Secure Feeds, Gmail Feed and International Characters

Just wanted to announce some service upgrades to LiteFeeds that were recently launched :

1) Get your Secure Feeds on your Mobile : LiteFeeds now supports any https feed. A particularly useful secure feed is your Gmail feed. By subscribing to your Gmail feed you can now receive email as a feed on your mobile ! We make it easy to subscribe with a Gmail shortcut in the Add Feeds section.

As more and more secure feed services are rolled out LiteFeeds will allow you to access them on your mobile … it’s not just blogs and news anymore. Soon almost any Web content will be browsable with one application on your mobile … LiteFeeds.

Most https feeds require authentication via your username and password (such as Gmail) and we allow you to enter that information. Once entered into the system this information is never visible by other users.

2) Improvements to the mobile software have been made. We recommend pointing your mobile browser to http://litefeeds.com/m and downloading the latest version. We’ve also released a separate mobile version for International users that better handles International characters.

3) Various bug fixes and efficiency/speed improvements.

We have just released a new version of LiteFeeds you can try at , with lots of great new features. We provide a Mobile RSS reader that synchronizes with your online RSS subscriptions. Our RSS feeds are cached, compressed and fast. We now provide the ability to view Flickr and Buzznet images in your feeds, and you have the ability to view full articles (not just RSS). You can also clip articles while mobile and share them with others. Also we have revamped the interface and LiteFeeds now works in any language. Not to mention we provide a full featured Web-based RSS reader as well. All of this is for FREE ! We hope everyone gives it a try. Feedback is very welcome.

Thanks and and all those involved for a simply awesome . Chris has the conference format dialed in, small size and great mix between presenters and break out opportunities. The quality of presenters was excellent, truly the cornerstones and visionaries of the blogsphere and RSS universe. The details and logistics were also handled perfectly keeping everything on time and flowing well ( stuff did a perfect job of this).

The Litefeeds squad even made it on to the famed “red couch” where we were thrilled to announced the latest release of Litefeeds.

Adam Curry put it best when he talked about users and developers partying together. We as developers look forward to partying with all litefeeds users both virtually and at conferences like Gnomedex so please shoot us an email, comment on our blog, Skype us and let’s get the party started in full gear!

Uggg . . . not sure if I can put together a coherent post but in a nutshell we’re off to in Seattle tomorrow and we’ve just launched a new version of Litefeeds! To commemorate the occasion I undertook a little make work project and took the and ran it through our RSS feed auto-discovery to grep out feed URL’s, so one could say . . . . drop it into their favorite aggregator, hey we have a cool aggregator and follow along the conversation at Gnomedex. get it here: Cya all there!
